[RBW] Re: Securing big Sackville to rack
I clamp mine down in the mousetrap of my Pletscher Rack. It's secure enough that the saddle loops seem optional. [RBW] Re: Securing big Sackville to rack
Thanks, all. Since this will be a (somewhat) quick on and off bag for both bikes, I'll use the toe strap method for the Matthews' rack. It's big! I had a Medium (should have kept it) and that carried huge loads, but this is claimed to be 32.5 liters when full but not bursting at seams. In comparison, a pair of backroller classics are rated at 40 liters. PDG! As for wheelies on the Dahon: nope, I've carried 45 lb on it, on a basket bolted to the rear rack. [RBW] Re: Securing big Sackville to rack
i got the people at a signshop here to cut me a piece of black platic signboard. it forms a bottom floor and doesnt promote flopping. i also use zip ties and sometimes a bit of brake cable and some of those crushable two hole fittings to secure the cable after running it around the rack and a leather slot. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. I use 3 zip ties on each side of the bag to the rack, not only for stability but a little more difficult to remove for SECURITY! Re: [RBW] Re: Securing big Sackville to rack
I use an Irish strap on the rear slot. I use it with a tombstone nitto, an old Pletscher rack, and the Clem rack. Both are fine. I want to invent a system of strong magnets on the underside to secure it to the rack, but it won't work on aluminium...also, the slit on the bag is too small for the new Clem rack fold up tombstone. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
