+1 on the Mavic 719, a quality rim. Mavic knows rims.

Same for the NoBS , which
is a skosche wider than the Atlas, at 25.4mm.

The weird thing about the Velocity rims is that either the 26" Synergy
 or the 26" Atlas
 are the perfect wide
size and perfect boxy shape - but unlike every other Velocity rim (and
almost everyone else's rims these days), they're only available in silver
and polished silver.

Peter: thanks; that's a very likely solution. I'll pursue.

[RBW] Re: Suggest a 36 hole rim that looks like the EQ21?

2015-07-22 Thread Peter Adler
The Mavic XM 719 is available in 36H:

http://www.mavic.com/rims-mtb-xm-719

ERTRO is 559x19, but the recommended tire width is 1.5-2.3" (58.4mm max).
Maybe you could get away with 60mm; certainly people have successfully run
622x60 tires on Open Pros, which are 622x19 ERTRO.

I haven't used this rim in 26", but I've used its 700c version (A719
) and its silver-anodized
predecessor (T520) for several years as touring wheels. They'll take a
fierce beating.
