[RBW] Re: Sugino Px on Atlantis

2009-10-31 Thread MichaelS
Hello-

I run a TA cyclotouriste with 46-42-26 on my All-Rounder with 125+5 Phil
BB. I probably have straighter chainstays than the Atlantis but if you use
a 36 middle ring there will probably be enough clearance. The Phil BB
retainers let you cheat it over a few more mm's, too.

Cheers- Mike

Does anybody here run a sugino PX on an atlantis? I would like to but
am not sure if it can clear the stays without a huge bottom bracket. I
would run a 46-36-26, do you think a Phil 118+5 or 121+5 would work?

2009-10-31 Thread newenglandbike

While this is no doubt true, I think sometimes folks can put a little
too much emphasis on chainline, *especially* on a multispeed rig.
Even on single speed setups, i'll normally just try to get the
chainline reasonable, and then i don't worry about it.

In my experience, chains last a long time maybe because they are good
(like a KMC with riveted pins and beefy links) or because they are
clean, well lubed, etc.

If you clear the stays with a long BB, you will have poor chainline.

2009-10-30 Thread PATRICK MOORE
I fit a triple cyclotourist on a frame wide enough for 60 mm tires plus
fenders plus mud, with decent chainline; but it (Diamond Back Axis Team) had
indentations at the right stay.

Take a hammer to the Atlantis ...
