Quality and value...what's not to like ; that is a nice looking machine and certainly Rivish in spirit. [RBW] Re: When a Riv is out of reach..
My wife keeps hinting that she would like a bike at some point, not anything fancy and relatively inexpensive, the Starling has been #1 on my list of frames to get when she finally decides to go for it and let me build it up for her. This is good inspiration for that, nice build. No, but I wish it was. The reality is mundane compared to that bit of fantastic googlivia. It's an acronym of the subject heading of this thread, the Rivendell Out Of Reach. Thanks all for the nice comments. I took it for a little spin tonight and it shifts easily, and climbs just fine. Upright posture makes it nice to take in the world around me. I hand it over next Wednesday. If she's not thrilled with it, I'll just keep it :) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. Mark in Beacon, What is ROOR? I googled it, and this is what I saw: "*RooR* is a Frankenthal-based company that produces high-end borosilicate jointed-glass bongs. It was founded 1995 by Martin Birzle, a German glass-blower. Don't think that's what you meant. Bruce, I think you built a fantastic bike for her. Well done, quality bike and under budget. hugh -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] Re: When a Riv is out of reach..
Handsome looking bike. But then I'm a little biased, since it looks quite a bit like my ROOR Schwinn Le Tour mixte. I like this bike so much that when a grey one in the same large size came up on CL this summer I had to do all I could to stifle myself. Of course since I would have to replace everything except the frame and rear derailleur, the fact that I have no bike money helped.
