Whoa, they've been and are still are as different as the US is to the UK or East Germany was to West. Yes there is shared history but for over six decades, they've been operating as two separate nations with two separate cultures and writing systems. And bringing it back to bikes, two different levels of attention to detail and simple craftsmanship! I'm looking forward to building up my San Marcos frameset this fall as my go-to quick, rando/charity ride/fendered but rackless steed. Well it is of course more complicated than people really think it is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiwan I have a few friends at work who are Taiwanese and trust me they would be very offended if you called them Chinese. Remember North Korea claims all of Korea as sovereign land, it doesn't make it so though. I deal with Taiwan and China with my work and trust me Taiwan is a pleasure to deal with while China is alot more difficult. Ok, political science major out, back to bike stuff. How does one get off that plastic dust cap from the Grip King pedals without mauling it?
