[RBW] WTB: Nitto R14 Rack

Hi,

I'm on the hunt for a Nitto R14 rack (silver or black, tombstone or no) to 
try on my recumbent. Most racks don't fit well, if at all, and I'm not sure 
the R14 will work out, so looks for something used to minimize my 
investment in this experiment. Anyone holding an R14 they're not using?

Yeah, I'm kind of suspecting that Soma is the same and just using an old 
picture for the product.  

At the moment, I'm using a Nitto Big Bag Rack for saddlebag support, which 
is a little overkill.  I don't really mind that at all, but I'm going to be 
shipping the bike for a trip soon, and I think it would be easier to pack 
with an R-14 that can fold down compactly.

Good luck in your search! I had an R14 for years and it was a good rack.

I too prefer the tombstone version. I once thought the newer free version would 
be better. But that was only true on paper. I was wrongly worried about the 
tombstone cutting into bag volume.

I quickly found out the tombstone-free one is not as good for bag stabilizing. 
And that factor is way more important to me than the volume intrusion factor.

they're willing to let go or know of a place that still offers them?
