[RBW] Wet 300k
Going with the fenders post, yesterday's ride in Seattle was a great testament to having coverage. It rained (hard) for at least half the ride. For me that was about 8 hours worth. Not the most fun I've ever had, but strangely satisfying in that a bad day outdoors on a bike is better than a good day inside. I certainly feel alive! I wasn't riding my Hilsen, but I will likely take that out next time. I'm waiting for a front Swift bag for the snacks and map. I was on a steel bike (Toussaint) experimenting with low trail and 650B (Hetres EL). The riv-related anecdote I'll bring up is how amazingly comfortable the Noodles are with a single cotton wrap layer. Even with non-cycling waterproof (not) gloves. It must be the diamond wrap! Great looking handlebar wrap. So far I've been putting a layer of inner tube under my cotton take for extra padding... Maybe I'll try the cotton only approach next time. 8 hours of rain riding during a 300k distance sounds like alot to me, congrats on finishing! Your SAA saddle had some extreme hammock action happening, is that just the result of the long hours and rain or is that the broken in standard?
