Re: [RBW] seatpost question

2017-09-11 Thread Toshi Takeuchi
Hi Jim,

If your friend uses a zero setback seatpost, he might gain an extra cm or
so. I needed to do that when I needed to decrease seat height for my kid.
Of course the seat may be pushed forward a little more, which could cause a
different issue.

Toshi

[RBW] Seatpost Question

2017-09-11 Thread Jim S.

Hi all,

I have a question about seatposts that I was hoping someone might be able
to help me with.

I have a friend with short legs and a long torso. I suggested to him that
he buy a larger frame to accommodate his long torso. But it turns out his
legs are unusually, remarkably short, such that, even with the seat post
slammed, he wants things a cm or so lower.

The saddle is a Brooks B17 - I know he could get a less-high saddle.

But it's a great saddle. Does anyone know of a seatpost, preferably with
setback, with a lower than normal profile? I think he has a Velo Orange
Grand Cru in there right now. Nice seatpost. But lots of this seatpost
can't fit into the seat tube.

Thanks in advance of any expertise.
