Re: [RBW] 650B Quickbeam? (was: Pacenti Pari-Moto 650B Tires?)
I think that Ron Lau (sp?) converted a Quickbeam to 650B. It was in the gallery at one point. Jim D. A little skinnier and a little slicker? I have to say the Hetres are hard to beat. Plush, light, durable, attractive, easy to mount. Hmmm, come to think of it, maybe I will stockpile a few. RE: [RBW] 650B Quickbeam? (was: Pacenti Pari-Moto 650B Tires?)
I almost missed it myself! The last (silver) run of QB's had two smaller sizes than previous runs, a 50cm and 52cm. They featured 650b wheels and Silver sidepulls rather than 700c and cantis. I posted to the 650b list that I wanted suggestions for a 650b fixed gear like a Quickbeam, and a helpful fellow (Ron Lau, I think) gently pointed out that there was just such a thing--a 650b Quickbeam. I ordered the very last 52cm they had the next day! I usually ride a 54cm but it was easy to adopt a 52cm QB to fit me--didn't even need full quill extension of a Tech. Deluxe stem...I can't even use Tech Deluxes on some of my 54cm Rivs--can't get the bars low enough with them! As far as I can tell/recall, the geometry is the same as other QB's-just scaled down a bit for the two smaller sizes and smaller wheels. I've shared them before but here's some pics of it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/40738...@n08/4317180490/in/set-72157623307633298/ Steve -Original Message- From: rbw-owners-bunch@googlegroups.com on behalf of Philip Williamson Sent: Thu 5/13/2010 2:16 PM To: RBW Owners Bunch Subject: [RBW] 650B Quickbeam?
