Hi Michael,

That really helps. With the problems reported on the Unique Range, I'm leaning
heavily toward Peerless.

Since the Peerless has 8 D cells for the ignitor at 1.5 VDC each, I am
wondering if a 48V to 12V voltage reducer might be able to run the sparker and
avoid the use of the batteries (if these are still available).

Thank you,

Drake

I've installed both Unique and Premier Pro Series. Both are high-quality.

With Premier Pro, be sure to specify "battery spark ignition" and NOT
"electronic ignition" which uses an oven glow barand the people at
Lowe's will have no idea what you are talking about. Twice they have
delivered the wrong one for me, to remote areas. If you see an 120VAC cord,
it's the wrong one, don't even finish opening the box and send it right
back down on the delivery truck.

Re: [RE-wrenches] Unique Off Grid Ranges

2017-10-11 Thread Dave Angelini Offgrid Solar
I have used them and Premier. They both will run the oven burner off a
spark lit pilot. The pilot goes out after you turn off the oven. They both
are a bit lacking in appearance (my wife and some clients have told me)
but if that is not an issue they do the job. In a large offgrid home the
loss is just part of the load calculation. For a small home/battery system
that bakes alot, it can really help in winter.

[RE-wrenches] Unique Off Grid Ranges

2017-10-11 Thread Drake

Hello Wrenches,

Some time back, Unique Off Grid Ranges were discussed on the list. At
that time on one had any experience with them.
http://uniqueoffgrid.com/product/unique-elite-30-off-grid-propane-range/

Has anyone tried them?

Is there a range out there that you really like.

Thanks,

Drake
