[Repeater-Builder] Motorolla R2200/R2400 Service Monitor extender card question?
Does anyone on the group know where I can an extender card for a Motorola R2200/R2400 Service Monitor? I need to do a complete alignment on my service monitor and need the circuit board extender card so I can get to the adjustments and test points on the circuit boards. Thanks, Glenn Maclean WA7SPY
[Repeater-Builder] Arcom RC210 loading wav files
Has anyone had success loading wav files per the instructions in the Arcom RCP programmer manaul? The manual states to fabricate a stereo 1/8 plug using the tip to the speaker output of a pc sound card and the other end a 1k resistor in series to pin 5 of a DB9 pin connector. Then pin 9 to the ground of the 1/8 stereo plug. Then using the serial cable from the controller to the pc load the 16 bit mono wav file into the controller with the rcp programmer software into port . I have tried the above procedure and can barely hear the wav file when I unlock the controller and use 123 (wav file track number) command to play back the loaded wav file. I am using a Panisonic Tough book lap top pc. I removed the 1k resistor and tried the same proceedure as above and still can barely hear the wav file when I play it back. I have also tried the record volume pot at several positions including turning it all the way up. The play back audio is very very weak. The play volume pot has plenty of audio with the voice ID. I can also record and play back the dvr using a transmitted signal into the repeater. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to load wav files using rcp programmer? Thanks, Glenn WA7SPY
[Repeater-Builder] Arcom RC210 PTT LED on all the time
I am putting a 220 repeater together using an ICOM IC-RPP2210. The repeater is working except the PTT LED remains illuminated all the time. It goes ever so slightly brighter when the repeater is keyed up. I measure 1.56 volts dc at the PTT line between the controller and repeater un-keyed. I measure .67 volts dc when the repeater is keyed up. I have tried applying 12 volts to a 10k ohm resistor with the other end connected to the PTT line with no change. The PTT LED remains on. I even tried a 1K resistor in the same configuration. The PTT LED remains on. The repeater is transmitting and receiving just fine with the RC210 controller. Any suggestions? Thanks, Glenn

I hope this will help others out there trying to get a VXR7000 PL output to go to zero volts. I had to use this circuit in order to get the VXR7000 to work with a ARCOM RC210 controller. Glenn WA7SPY

I had the same issue with my VXR7000 connecting it to a ARCOM RC210 controller. I built the circuit and it works great with the PL line going to zero volts. Glenn WA7SPY
[Repeater-Builder] Spectrum Communications Corp repeater help needed
I have posted earlier that Spectrum Communications Corp is now out of business. I have a Spectrum Communications Corp S-7R 6 meter repeater I am trying to put in service. Here are the issues I have and I hope someone can help me out: 1>The receiver synthesizer seems to be dead. Does any one have a schematic of the synthesizer? 2>Does anyone have a matrix for the dip switches for the RX frequency setting? If I can not get the synthesizer to work my plan is to remove the synthesizer and integrate a Motorola Low band channel element and add a multiplier circuit as a LO to input into the 21.4MHz mixer. Any comments or help would be appreciated. Thanks, Glenn Maclean WA7SPY
[Repeater-Builder] Spectrum Comminications Corp Question?
Does anyone know how to get in touch with Spectrum Communications Corp? I have tried calling the phone number listed on their web site and it has been disconnected. I have also tried emailing the sales email address listed on their web site and the email bounces. I am beginning to believe they are no longer in business. Any help as to how to contact them would be appreciated. I am looking for help with a S-7R 6 meter repeater. Thanks, Glenn Maclean WA7SPY
[Repeater-Builder] Spectrum Comminications Corp question
I have acquired a Spectrum Communications Corp S-7R 6 meter repeater. The receiver synthesizer is dead. I am assuming that Spectrum Communications Corp is out of business. The phone number on their web site has been disconnected. Is anyone still supporting these repeaters for service? Can anyone help me with a schematic on the synthesizer? If not I will build a crystal oscillator with a fixed crystal to replace the synthesizer. The second question is does anyone have a copy they would be willing to send me of the program that tells the dip switch settings for frequencies for receive and transmit? Thanks for the help in advanced. Glenn Maclean WA7SPY
