2007-03-10 Thread Loren James
greetings, I have a pair of 221s radio's. they were a repeater pair. the tx
radio lost the power output so I have switched the roles of the radio's. I
would wonder if anyone can help me with the programming of these radio's. I
have the program and the box to connect to the radio. thanks, Loren.

[Repeater-Builder] battery question

2006-01-11 Thread Loren James
Got a small question, I have recently been given a pair of 12 v BAT_0103
batteries. These are sealed lead acid cell (UPS) and are 75 amp hr. I am
currently using a pair of car batteries as battery back-up. Are the sealed
ones better to use or does it make no difference. The GE power supply will
charge them and switch to them during ac outage. Thanks Loren

I have a GE base station supply with battery back up option, Is there
anyway to make the change-over from ac to battery faster? It seems to take
about 30 minutes. seems way to long. Loren

Subject: [Repeater-Builder] GE Mastr II - what have I got?

Our local volunteer excursion railroad is growing to the point where
simplex radio communications is not filling the need (adding another 3
miles of track, windy railroad, multiple trains). So going repeater is
an option. I have seen articles ads about converting a GE Master Exec
 II
 series radio for repeater operation.

Yesterday I was scrounging around our stash and found a single GE
radio. Maybe you can tell me what I've got and its potential. Name plate
 data is:
 GE Mastr II
 comb MX56KAS66A
 ser 8493743SPL
 FCC TX Data KT-32-B
 FCC RX Data ER-64-A

We also have a number of Motorola Micor series radios, and I'd welcome
comments on their suitability vs the GE.

 TIA
 Don

[Repeater-Builder] mastrII help

2003-12-12 Thread Loren James
Hi, have a UHF GE MastrII using as a repeater with a nhrc 2 controller and
the control head/cable w/ mic hooked up for power.. The audio level (on the
output) seems to be low. I have the pickup on pin 20 on J901 and using
CAS(pin 9 on J904) for the controller. Or should I use the RUS pin on 904
board? The pots on the controller don't seem to have enough adjustment . Any
help ALWAYS appreciated. N2LSJ
