[Repeater-Builder] Zetron ZMX dtmf mic

2008-04-20 Thread barrypal
Does anyone have programming information for the Zetron ZMX dtmf mic?
It is programmable using the dtmf pad on the mic. I am using it on a
Motorola m1225 and it's working great but it has been programmed to
send a dtmf on key down and key upCan't have that..

Thanks

I have been told that if there are cooling fans on both sides of the
repeaters heat sinks it's the 25-100 unit(uhf). Is this correct. No
cooling fans would indicate 40 watt units or just remote receivers.

I have the remote control manual for the 3000, 4000 if anyone needs

would do any good... hi

[Repeater-Builder] Re: Icom IC-FR4000-3

2007-07-28 Thread barrypal
Ryan, how do you run your system ID. It looks likes it will id every
time the repeater logs in and or out. That is every time it is keyed
up and unkeyed it will id. You can set up intervals up to 5000
seconds but that's 24/7 and has nothing to do with repeater activity.
I can't seem to find a way to make it more friendly and id during log
on and then be quiet for a time period before going through another id
cycle regardless of the repeater logging in or out...
My hang on time is 1 second. I could set up a longer hang on time
which would clean the id up a bit but I run Echolink Voip and we need
a short hang on for that to work properly

Barry

I had that problem once on a FR-3000. it had to do with the {Hang
On} under Common Setting:Common. the box had to be checked (on) for:
C. Tone during a Hang ON.

   Good Luck,

   Ryan

[Repeater-Builder] Re: Icom IC-FR4000-3

2007-07-28 Thread barrypal
John, don't you think that's more wear and tear on the repeater then
necessary? 4 key ups an hour or 96 key ups a day...Are you operating
on the commercial band? I operate on the ham band and that's a lot of
unnecessary transmission time. As it looks now the id can't be run
the way I want to. Part 97 of the FCC rules says that the repeater
must id at start of key up and every 10 minutes after that. It really
doesn't have to id around the clock with no activity. I have a 1
second hang time and most conversations let the repeater drop. When
it come up again it id's. and so on. Driving me crazy. The only work
around I can see is to set the hang time long so it doesn't drop off
during exchanges and thus no id. But, I run voip Echolink and you
have to have a quick hang time for the system to turn over to the
internet. I am getting long winded. I just might be missing
something in the software. If so someone set me straight.

the seller programmed it for me before shipping and said it was
putting out 8 watts on low power (all i need since i'm using a PA) and
nearly 50 watts on high power.
