I believe you are right. Simplex is difficult with a circulater.

Can you receive through a circulator without heavy losses? I've never
 tried it...

First of all you do not have enough isolation between antennas with
only two wavelenghts horizonal seperation. A single bandpass cavity
will not be enough. I would try 2 bandpass/bandreject cavities.
Reject set for the TX freq and the other set for the RX freq. I
believe that RF from your repeater is exciting the RF amp in your
aprs tranceiver, see if the problem is still present with the aprs
hooked up to the antenna but with your power supply disconnected.
Most people used a simple mobile for aprs which creates alot of
headaches where several transmitters are used. They just dont have
the filtering needed for this application. You should also use a
circulator on your aprs radio. This will help keep RF out of your
 aprs transmitter.

What are you asking for the equipment?

David N9CZV

Hi eveyone,
I am making some changes on the UHF system we have here in KC. And in
those chages, I have a complete Doug Hall RBI-1 remote interface and
Kenwood TM701a (2m/440) and TM-321A (220) radios to go with it, for
sale. These were hooked in to an Scom 7k. If anyone is interested,

Use the busy LED on the radio for COR.

Does anyone know where I can find the COR or COS point for a Motorola
P110 or GP300. I am working on a portable repeater and would like to
use a typical controller with COS circuit and not just audio. I am
familiar with the portables but as far as reading a schematic and
finding that plot on the radio itself, I am at a loss. Thanks in
 advance.

Re: [Repeater-Builder] Motorola GM300 exciter output

I believe 100mw is the exciter PO. There are several amps that will do.

Has anyone had any experience taping directly into the output of a GM300
to drive an external amplifier, bypassing the GM300 PA completely.

Any idea on how much drive one might expect from the exciter?

Any ideas on an amp make/model that would work to watch eBay for if this
 is feasible?

This is for a portable repeater for our local club...and the idea of
bypassing the GM300 PA for a more robust external amplifier.

The concept was coffee talk than anything else as this unit will see
very limited use and it is doubtful that we would burn up a GM300 PA,
especially with a couple of axial fans blowing on the heat sink.
