[Repeater-Builder] Vocom UHF Amplifier Tuning Question.

2010-03-16 Thread n2len
Hello All,
I just picked up 3 of these amplifiers last night and would like to shift them
down to ham.

(2) UVC 100-10
(1) UVC 200-80

They are currently on 461 mhz.

I haven't looked inside them yet. Is the tuning similar in design to the TPL
with tuning caps to peak for the input and output swr and freq?

Anyone have a owners/service manual or tuning instruction page they can scan
for me and send via e-mail?

Thanks,

2009-04-26 Thread n2len
Thanks Randy for that additional information.
Eric, I stand corrected, the part number you gave me is correct. However, I
simply need the top sway bracket not the complete side mount kit. I will call
Wisco tomorrow to see if they would sell me just the top bracket.

Does anyone have a top sway bracket that they can offer me?

Thanks...

Here is my question: We currently have a lower base dual side arm

What are the correct upper insulated side mounts to protect the antenna
 from swaying in the wind?
  RFS PART NUMBER?
  How many are actually needed?
Are they ordered by length or are they adjustable like the lower base arm?
We can top mount the antenna, however I dont want the antenna to crack

Also, There are 2 towers the same height at this site. Literally right

[Repeater-Builder] UHF LINK ANTENNA QUESTION HELP NEEDED!

2008-09-27 Thread n2len
Can anyone please offer me some assistance.

I am trying to link my VHF repeater to a club machine on 440 MHZ.

For now I received permission to link directly on their input until
the club installs a remote base and yagi next spring.

There repeater is about 20 air miles away. I am using a 5 element UHF
Yagi about 45 feet up a 170 Rohn 65 at my hub site!

The Yagi is facing due West. The link works fantastic with 5 watts
however I am receiving a 440 MHZ repeater on the same input over 100
air miles away to the South. 90 degrees off the side of the Yagi.

So my question is. Any input to solve this antenna related problem to
Buffer that weak signal from the south?

Any move of the antenna lowering, different antenna etc...

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

[Repeater-Builder] Remote base radio help...

2006-02-07 Thread n2len
Hello,

I am presently hooking ua remote base radio to my vxr5000. The 5000 COS
needs a contact closure to make function. I am using a ICOM 207 via 6
pin mini din for signaling. I have used a 2N transistor set up as a
open collector output circuit to trigger the COS on the 5000 repeater.

Diagram:
Base---ICOM207 Squelch Output to 4.7K resistor to base leg of transistor
CollectorFeeds COS pin on VERTEX VXR5000
EmitterGND

Now the link radio only works one way when I switch it on.
When the 5000 transmits the link radio keys up and sends audio to the
other machine. But when the other machine keys up nothing back. The
link radio receives the signal but it dosent throw the 5000 into
transmit. So I am thinking I have a COS problem with the transistor
circuit I built.

So my question is. Do I need this transistor circuit to activate COS on
the repeater or can I just wire the Squelch output of the 207 directly
to the COS pin on the VXR5000. Is the ICOM207 logic level at the mini
din.

I know that this is specific information to my situation, but I figured
to ask anyway.

Thanks

2005-11-14 Thread n2len
I appreciate all the input...Right now, Out of the duplexers. 65
watts UHF and 25 watts VHF. I would however like to increase the
power to 100/100.

Thanks again

Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Diplexer for UHF/VHF Repeating...

I know that this has been asked before, but does anyone know of a
commercial diplexer with a higher power rating so that one can
use one
dualband antenna at the repeater site for both a VHF and UHF
repeater.

  Thank you...

Fiplex DVN4522 Duplexers: Retail Cost Direct from Fiplex: $900.00
Specifications:
Fiplex DVN series are efficent duplexers, made up of four coaxial
cavities, able to be installed in a 19 cabinet. These duplexers are
intened to be used in high power applications, or when there is small
TX-RX separation. Around the Pass frequencies, these duplexers
display a Quasi band pass response, providing additional selectivity
that protects the receiver against interferences and reduces the
noise and spurious emission of the transmitter. Good thermal
stablility is obtained by a fine design and by the use of IVAR rods
to control the tuning of each resonator.

All equipment is in like Mint condition with almost no talk time
hours!
The repeater was just serviced from Vertex still bubble wrapped! More
than 2 years of complete service Warranty still on repeater. Fully
transferable!

I was going to place this immediately on the air but decided to go
with a Motorola MSF5000 instead!

I am looking for either a complete FT847 or TS2000 radio\tuner
package or cash.
