[Repeater-Builder] PROGRAMMING MOT. HT-1000

2009-07-15 Thread afa5tp
Hello Group,

It is always confusing to figure out what computer to use for programming, ie.
speed of processor, what operating system, etc.
I am using a Ribless cable, pluged into Com 1.
The RSS appears to be DOS screen. (I looked at the RSS on a 2 gig processor
computer, running XP). Probably too fast,huh? I have a 386-16, Dos 6.xx
computer I use for Midland XTR programming. Would this be a better choice?

What type of above would I need to reprogram a UHF HT-1000?

The model # is H01SDC9AA3DN

I would like to program it to the 70 cm HAM band.

I have access to RSS 02.10.02 [RVN4098D], and 03.02.01 [RVN4098G]

Do I need to hold the [SHIFT] key while entering frequencies?

Thanks for any information.

Tim,

The Motorola RVN4098 software is a DOS program. That means genuine DOS
6.22, not a DOS Window or a Command Prompt running in Windows. I
program my HT1000 radios on a 2.6 GHz Pentium computer, but I first have to
boot it up in DOS 6.22 using a DOS boot disk. The speed of the computer is
generally irrelevant, so long as you boot it up in DOS.

Unfortunately, your H01SDC radio is designed to operate in the 450-520 MHz
band, and cannot be programmed to the 70 cm Ham band. The ideal radio for
Ham use is the H01RDC version, which can be programmed to any frequency in
the 403-470 MHz range.

The HT1000 radio is particularly sensitive to the voltage levels in the
programming data, and that is why a genuine Motorola RLN4008 RIB is
recommended. Many aftermarket RIB clones or RIB-less cables do not produce
accurate data levels, and may work intermittently or not at all. I have had
little success in using any of the aftermarket cables.
