Look up Tellular, they have cell phones specificly designd for what you are wanting to do. but be prepared for the sticker shock as they are not subsidised by the carrier and also are for a specialised market. Is this for repeater control? Or for voice autopatch? If it is for the former I may have a solution. Write me off list. Besides it saves paying an additional cellphone bill: http://www.repeater-builder.com/tech-info/remotepatch.html Or if you do want a commercial product, you will have to dedicate a cellphone to it: http://www.phonelabs.com/prd05.asp A friend of mine has one with the bluetooth adapter. When he arrives at home he simply plugs the cellphone into the charger and lays it next to the unit. The cellphone appears as line #3 on every phone in the house. He is forced into using this device since the cellphone coverage sucks in his neighborhood - the front bedroom on the second floor is the only place he can receive or make a call. Mike WA6ILQ Yahoo! Very interesting, wonder how long this has been on the market? I was told about a year ago that it could not be done? As we learn something new each day. A very interesting product, could come in handy for a lot of my people whom are tied to a wire due to the coverage in their area. Thanks for pointing that out.Mathew Nate Duehr [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Tim Horvath wrote: I have a repeater in a remote aera with no phone service. Another product is called a CellSocket. I don't think it accepts as many phones as the one pointed out by other posters, but it's been around for at least 3 years, maybe longer. Depending on the phone, there were some things it would not do, such as access voice-mail or do caller-ID. Motorola and Nokia seem to be the most popular phones to have such devices made for them. Some of these also provide for an external antenna on the phone which helps boost the signal. Doubt it, no way to tell it to send. Other thought would be, is there internet service there, or wireless internet? That would be a more likely option. To my knowledge, there is none of the cell phones that automate like you want it to. Mathew N9LV Tim Horvath [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I have a repeater in a remote aera with no phone service. Thanks, Tim Our club once considered replacing the unreliable wired autopatch phone line with a cellphone an interface that provides a standard wired phone connection from the cellphone. Unfortunately I don't have any info on it but I can put you in touch with our trustee who did the research on it if you like. Bob NO6B Yahoo!
