Title: Financial Planning Analyst Location: Mercer Island. WA
Length: Full Time Job Summary The highest priority of this position is to support senior leadership and executive team in the analysis and realization of the corporate strategy. This involves moderate visibility, including interactions with management regarding sensitive corporate material and participation on cross-functional teams delivering on strategic initiatives. The responsibilities entail administrating architecture and design of local planning and consolidation tool, assisting in the documentation and evaluation of the current state of analytic capabilities, assisting with financial modeling needs in support reporting and analysis of key performance indicators, work flow analysis/proposal/implementation, and special projects. The individual takes responsibility for continued development of finance skills while actively seeking to expand their understanding of Life Insurance the insurance industry as a whole. Adherence to high ethical standards, personal integrity and maintaining professional composure/demeanor at all times is essential. This position requires the individual to have superior time management skills and a flexible work schedule. *Essential Job Functions * Monitors, maintains and prepares monthly key performance indicator (KPI) metrics reports on financial and operational results; analyze trends and explain drivers for KPI performance compared to prior history, plan, and forecasted amounts; identify risks and opportunities during KPI analysis; communicate KPI results to management. Primary customer is FLI executive team. Serves as the system architect / administrator for planning and consolidation tool with primary design oversight for data flows, reports, and application change management and migrations, including to ensure that reports are adequately tested and development / deployment standards are followed. Assist in the development and maintenance of financial models; coordinate with consulting resources and internal subject matter experts on model development. Applies analytic and creative thinking skills to strategy development, market research, competitor analysis and trend tracking projects. Evaluates available technology and alternatives to optimize processes within Finance that support analytics; assist with developing cost-benefit analysis and recommendations to senior management on optimization of technological resources. May assist in the development of various corporate presentations for internal and external audiences, including semi-annual Business Unit Reviews, quarterly Board of Director meetings and periodic one-off slide decks. Primary customers include senior management team, Board of Directors, and Global Life executive team. Evaluate and document work process flows in Finance; review documentation for completeness and accuracy of work flows; develop and implement “To Be” work flows.
