Location: Wilson, NC Duration: 6+ Months v DB2-DBA ( on sap platform) Administrator with extensive experience in AIX environment and Data Partitioning Feature or DPF v Writing and testing shell scripts for automating database monitoring v Perform routine database maintenance, monitoring and performance tuning v Interacting with application teams and troubleshooting database-related issues *Enterprise Job Description:* Participates in design, development and implementation of complex databases, often using new technologies. Viewed as the subject matter expert for the team. Manages multiple, moderately complex projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor. Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants or managers. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Qualifications: v Minimum 5 years of SAP-DB2 DBA experience required v The successful candidate will have 4 or more years experience with DB2 with DPF on AIX v Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills v Preferably with exposure to Data Warehousing and DB2 Version 9.7, 10.1, 10.5 v Good working knowledge of AIX and Linux v Must be expert with DB2 Enterprise Edition v DPF v High Availability Disaster Recovery, HACMP, HADR and Log Shipping v DB2 Workload Manager v DB2 Storage Optimization v MDC v STMM v Performance Tuning at all levels (sub-system, Database, SQL) v (The more modules list above the candidate has, the better) v Good hands-on experience of database maintenance, database health monitor, tablespace management, etc. v Performance Tuning and DBA administration.
