[request-sponsor] Please remove CR 4940735 from the sponsor list

2008-08-05 Thread Cynthia Eastham
Due to higher priority obligations, the requester asks that CR 4940735
RFE grep endless customer complaints about missing 'grep -r' be
removed from the sponsor list to give someone else the opportunity to
work on it.

Is there any update on this? The ARC 2005/049 case has
PSARC 2005/049 FastTrack Add ggrep context and recursive search
fclosed approved fast-track 02/02/2005

The fasttrack was approved, but the engineer got pulled off this to
address higher-priority work.

Cyndy Eastham is willing to sponsor you if you are interested in working
on the implementation. Is that a possibility?

Sure, I'd be happy to work on it.

Please make sure you cover BOTH /usr/bin/grep and /usr/xpg4/bin/grep,
otherwise it's getting a little bit annoying for those who have
/usr/xpg4/bin by default in their ${PATH} ...
... and feel free to ask me or the people in
shell-discuss at opensolaris.org for review... :-)

Bye,
Roland

The arc case already provides for this. In fact, the case specifies
that the changes will go into /usr/bin/grep, /usr/xpg4/bin/grep,
/usr/bin/egrep, /usr/xpg4/bin/egrep, /usr/bin/fgrep, and
/usr/xpg4/bin/fgrep.

Thank you,
Cindy

Request sponsor for 6438090, simple fix as shown at

This fixes the bug that -s -s behaves differently than -s, but still
leaves undefined what happens if a combination of -l and -s are used,
which I think is OK, since they should be exclusive.

[request-sponsor] du option merge 6269516

2006-04-25 Thread Cynthia Eastham
Hi Peter,

I will sponsor the fixes for CR 6269516 and CR 4858191.

CR 4430296 integrated the -h and -H options. This does not need to be
reopened as CR 4858191 is sufficient to cover the -m flag.
