I was all set to buy another AIT drive and discovered that Seagate has discontinued them. They no longer list any AIT drives on their web page. I put a call into Seagate Pre-Sales Support and the guy said that they have decided to stop licensing the technology from Sony and instead are focusing on the upcoming Linear Tape-Open Technology (LTO).
