Issue 742 in reviewboard: Email Authentication Error

It seems to me that the problem is that the password is being sent to hmac as unicode and it is expecting a string. I created the following patch which seems to be working on my system. I am very new to python and I am not sure if this would be the proper way to take care of this. But maybe this will help come up with a solution in order for authenticated smtp to work properly.
