Context hacking is a specific style of political action drawing from a watchful view of the paradoxes and absurdities of power, turning these into the starting point for subversive interventions. It's a strategy of playing with representations and identities, with alienation and over-identification. But a fundamental question remains: is it still possible to subvert? Or are we all stuck in an endless late-capitalist cycle of revolt and assimilation? Maerz 2011 Cologne International Videoart Festival lädt Film- und Videomacher in aller Welt ein, teilzunehmen an "CologneOFF 2011 - Videoart im globalen Kontext" einem einzigartigen nomadischen Festivalprojekt, welches zeitgleich im physischen und virtuellen Raum realsiiert, geleitet und kuratiert wird durch Wilfried Agricola de Cologne, beginnend am 1.Januar 2011 und endend am 31. Dezember 2011. Den Zielsetzungen entsprechend wird während des Jahres 2011 an vielen Orten der Welt die Vielfalt des kreativen Potentials von "Kunst und bewegten Bildern" im globalen Medium "Video" gezeigt.
