Hello,

(In reply to comment #9)
 (In reply to comment #8)
 When will the 6.30.223.141 wireless driver be available in the rpmfusion
 repository?

They are already available for F-18 and F-19, but not already built for F-20
(still Rawhide in rpmfusion).
Did you mean F-20?

Hello,

Since Broadcom released 6.30.223.141 wireless driver, this review request is
not needed anymore. Let's see if switching to this new version from the
previous one (e.g. 5.100.82.112) goes well and doesn't need to provide a legacy
package from this previous version.

Note: files linked in this review request will be unavailable from my DropBox
share in the next few days.

Cordially,

Hello,

 I discovered that wl-6xx.ko in fact exist.

 However, I get an error with modprobe:

  $ modprobe -v wl-6xx
  insmod /lib/modules/3.9.5-301.fc19.x86_64/extra/wl-6xx/wl-6xx.ko
  modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'wl_6xx': Required key not available

 Any ideas?

First thanks for your feedback.

Maybe you should be interested by this comment:

As this review request is not yet approved, this package doesn't already comply
all the things needed for F-19, so I'm afraid you have to disable Secure Boot
on your laptop in order to load this module.

Feel free to provide any feedback you think useful.

Hello  NVieville,

I have Fedora 19 and a Sony Vaio with chip BCM43142 installed.

I am trying your package in order to have wireless connectivity but I am having
some problems.

I am new to Linux, although I have experience with several mainframe operating
systems, so
after some problems with prerequisites and setting the rpmbuild environment I
managed
to rpmbuild and yum install the packages:

 $ rpmbuild --rebuild broadcom-wl-6xx-6.30.223.30-1.fc20.src.rpm
 Installing broadcom-wl-6xx-6.30.223.30-1.fc20.src.rpm
   .
   .
   .
 + exit 0

 $ rpmbuild --rebuild wl-6xx-kmod-6.30.223.30-1.fc20.src.rpm
 Installing wl-6xx-kmod-6.30.223.30-1.fc20.src.rpm
   .
   .
   .
 + exit 0

 $ yum install noarch/broadcom-wl-6xx-6.30.223.30-1.fc19.noarch.rpm \
 x86_64/kmod-wl-6xx-3.10.5-201.fc19.x86_64-6.30.223.30-1.fc19.x86_64.rpm \
 x86_64/kmod0-wl-6xx-6.30.223.30-1.fc19.x86_64.rpm \
 x86_64/akmod-wl-6xx-6.30.223.30-1.fc19.x86_64.rpm \
   .
   .
   .
 Installed:
   akmod-wl-6xx.x86_64 0:6.30.223.30-1.fc19

   broadcom-wl-6xx.noarch 0:6.30.223.30-1.fc19

   kmod-wl-6xx.x86_64 0:6.30.223.30-1.fc19

   kmod-wl-6xx-3.10.5-201.fc19.x86_64.x86_64 0:6.30.223.30-1.fc19

 Complete!

I can send you the full output of the above.

After a reboot, I cannot see the wireless. In addition, I cannot find the
wl-6xx.ko module neither with lsmod nor with locate. However, it seems that
the module is generated with CFG80211 API during the installation process.

I will appreciate any help that you may give me, including what is the
correct forum to post a help request if it is not appropriate to
do here.

Thanks in advance.
