Role Overview: The team manages business critical OLTP and multi-terabyte data warehouses utilizing the latest technologies in the industry such as RAC, GoldenGate, Exadata, Hadoop, MS Sql Server Clustering, and more.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Manage individual workload and deliver to agreed-upon milestones, require minimal supervision to perform job duties.
- Plan, design, and build high performance database systems.
- Work with architect, application and infrastructure teams on implementing customer-servicing application releases and infrastructure projects.
- Analyze database & system response time and determine tuning recommendations to improve performance.
- Effectively manage issue identification and resolution process.
- Participate in, and encourage a knowledge-sharing environment both within, and outside the department.
- Participate in on-call duties.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in related technical / business area is required. Computer Science, Information Services, mathematics, engineering or related field.
- 5-10 years experience of UNIX (IBM AIX or Linux) platform, Oracle RAC/ASM, RMAN, OEM, Oracle Partitioning, Shell scripting and/or PL/SQL scripting, Oracle Dataguard and Oracle Net are required
- GoldenGate skills
- 3-5 years experience of Exadata, Oracle OVD, Oracle GoldenGate, Microsoft SQL Server and/or Hadoop is highly desirable.
- Strong change management skills; change agent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience supporting mission critical infrastructure in a fast paced environment.
