2004-03-15 Thread sonja524
I don't see a problem with GOD and State, it's CHURCH and STATE I have the problem
with.

If we could somehow separate God from the crazy religious folks who tell me that I am
going to burn in hell because I don't believe as they believe, dress as they dress,
eat as they eat, DRINK as they drink and help them build multi-million dollar churches
so they can PROVE to the world that they're THE #1 CHRISTIAN, then we'd be in business.

Somewhere along the way, the Federal Courts and the Supreme Court have

   THIS IS VERY INTERESTING!
Be sure to read the last two paragraphs. America's founders did not

On the surface this case seems pretty cut and dried, but if any of you have
ever been around someone that suffers from a mental illness such as bi-polar
disorder, you know just how unstable he or she can become. They're incapable
of making good judgment during a manic or depressive episode. I don't know
if this is the deal with this woman or not, just looking at her mug on the
web, she looks deranged to me.

-Georgia 1777, Preamble. We, the people of Georgia, relying upon

If you had bought $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year
ago, it would now be worth $49.00.

With Enron, you would have $16.50 of the original
 $1,000.00.

With Worldcom, you would have less than $5.00 left.

However, if you had bought $1,000.00 worth of
Budweiser (thebeer,NOT the stock) one year ago, drank
all the beer, then turned in the cans for the 10 cent
 deposit, you would have $214.00.

Based on the above, my current investment advice is to
 drink heavily and recycle.

This is my new retirement program,

I call it my 401Keg program

But I do like my church. It is very contemporary and laid back. Nobody
turned their noses up at me when I walked in with hair half way down my
back. One guy even comes in barefoot at times. LOLI was surprised when
the roof didn't fall in on me.

I understand your position. No designated / preferred church has a place in
this country. The Pilgrims came here to escape religious persecution.
Religious freedom is a blessing that we should all be grateful for.

Actually I prefer Corona or Miller, but Bud is Little E's choice I plan to
acquire the taste, but we're still best friends until then.

I think most mothers are of the same mind set,
   Devonna. I would take a
   bullet for my smart-mouthed, know-it-all, 15 year
   old son. Since my child
was 10 lbs, 3 oz, a damn scar was the least of my
   worries when I gave birth.

Let's see how scarred she will become in prison.

I agree; I've had 2 c-sections and would do it

You were talking about your appreciation for practicing religion with
tolerance for others. (i.e. barefoot)

Then you qualified it with your Sunday Morning comment.

Maybe I misunderstood.

fwiw, some folks go on Sunday afternoon.

Or even Saturday gawdforbid!

2004-03-15 Thread Joe Goodson
LOL
Well, I suppose that we all have to find our niche when it comes to
worshiping God. I stayed home because it was not easy for me to find a
church home where I felt comfortable. I am a lousy Christian, but
incrementally, I am improving.

Since you mentioned Saturdays, it reminded me that my first wife Nicole was
a German national and a Catholic. She was not very devout, though, which
might explain why she married me. LOL
