RE: [RollTideFan] Every picture tells a story don't it.....

2004-05-05 Thread Joel Perry
Would that be the water systems and power plants that we destroyed while we
were bringing freedom to the Iraqi people?

Bottom of the barrel? Hardly. Just one more example of the reality of being
horribly under-prepared for the war. This is sure to get much bloodier for
the Americans once the pictures reach the streets of Iraq. And you can bet
that no one in the White House really cared about how the prisoners were
being treated until the pictures became public. The time lapse between when
this abuse was reported and now indicates that they were trying to 'keep it
down home cuz' for fear of the response from the rest of the world.

We're in a mess that is getting deeper and more deadly everyday.

And I wasn't fishing. If I were, I would have used the Tillman story. A
brief comparison to the Jessica Lynch ordeal (spin) would have gotten a
much more heated response from the bottom feeders.

I was wondering how long it would take you to start mouthing off about this
unfortunate incident perpetrated by some twisted individuals. Why not go
looking for some of the POSITIVE things that our troops are doing over
there? Why not look up stories about the water systems we are restoring to
operation of the power plants that are up and running again? Nopegotta
go for the bottom of the barrel.

Typical Joel Perry.

This should really help our efforts to 'liberate' Iraq..

[RollTideFan] Trainer Going to the Hall...

2004-05-05 Thread Devan Orange
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Bill McDonald, Alabama's longtime athletic trainer, will
be inducted to the National Athletic Trainers' Association Hall of Fame in
June.

McDonald will join the late Jim Goostree as the Crimson Tide's Hall of Fame
honorees.

It is a great honor, said McDonald, who will be inducted on June 18 during
the NATA's meeting in Baltimore. This award is especially meaningful to me
since it is exactly 20 years ago that Jim Goostree entered the Hall of
Fame.

[RollTideFan] Out in the West Texas town of El Paso...

2004-05-05 Thread Devan Orange
... Price finds home

EL PASO, Texas -- Mike Price thought all the bile had settled. The
bitterness pretty much was gone. All the stares he got in supermarkets, the
advice from counselors. A bout with depression. Faded, painful souvenirs.
Don't even start on the embarrassment of putting your family -- your wife --
through such a public wringer. That wound was finally scabbing over, too.

Quite frankly, I thought it was one of the safer things as far as him
getting in trouble in the future, said Price's new boss, Bob Stull. I
think he said his wife stopped beating him about three weeks ago. He was
down to one beating a day.

Well well... What if all the roles were reversed and Price was a woman and this
was said? Her husband is down from beating her 3 times a day to once a day! Haw
Haw!!!

I think the statement by Stull was wholly inappropriate and he should apologize
to all men. We can't have a PC double standard, can we?
