Authorities want author of 'The Junction Boys' returned to Texas Associated Press
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The author of best-selling book about former Texas A&M football coach Bear Bryant's demanding training camp in 1954 has been arrested in Las Vegas, where a judge Monday could decide to send him back to Texas to face probation violation charges related to a 1999 drunken driving arrest.
Jim Dent, author of "The Junction Boys," was arrested in Las Vegas earlier this month, The Bryan-College Station Eagle reported in Saturday's editions. Dent is wanted in Texas for violating his probation based on a 1999 drunken driving conviction in Brazos County, the newspaper reported.
Brazos County Sheriff's Department spokesman J. Waltman told The Associated Press Saturday that Texas authorities requested Dent's extradition shortly after his Nevada arrest for drunk driving on June 12. [...]
