Re: [Sabily.team] Minbar Vs Monajat
Wa alaykom assalem, I doin't agree with you! in fact I needed Minbar before to detect Kibla when I travelled to France and Spain, and I am sure that a lot of persons need it for that, so Minbar is mandatory in Sabily as I see. On the other side Monajat is a program for supplications and not for prayers time, and the prayers time is a new feature added to it, so it can not replace Minbar..of course Minbar can not replace Monajat since we will not have a supplications program in Sabily. The solution that I propose is to deactivate the athan notification in one of them only. Other thing is that in Sabily we provide more than one alternative for the same need (like Zekr, Mus'haf Othman, Noor) and it is up to the user to use what he want, we wouldn't like to impose one software per category since tastes of users are different. 2011/12/7 Trainer Imen imen.bettai...@gmail.com *Assalem Alaykom,* * * *My lap-top call for prayer two times with two programs (Minbar + Monajat), I'll perhaps remove Minbar...* *And I wondered Why not remove Minbar from Sabily and keep only Monajat since the new Monajat could replace Minbar's role ?* * * *Yours.* -- المدرّبة في التنمية البشريّة و المهندسة في الإعلاميّة إيمان بالطيّب https://www.facebook.com/trainer.imen http://imenbettaieb.blogspot.com/ http://www.linkedin.com/in/bettaieb ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~sabily.team Post to : sabily.team@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~sabily.team More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp -- عبد المنعم كوكة Abdelmonam Kouka http://sabily-guru.blogspot.com/ http://geek-tounsi.blogspot.com/ ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~sabily.team Post to : sabily.team@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~sabily.team More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Sabily.team] app menu
Salam Aleikum, I saw this image: http://sabi.ly/Share/img.aspx?id=x3L7Z but I think that this menu isn't necessary, since the fallback mode is available, as well as the classic gnome. If you would like something smashing, you could take a look at Mint12 (here's a review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaRPUmPUSmw); it's gnome-shell addons are amazing! However, I wouldn't recommend them for now, since they seem to have some bugs. Maybe they can be added later on. - A. Please correct me if I got it wrong. ---end quoted text--- Actually one of the main reasons that made me add the Islamic date/time GNOME Shell extension, is that both Minbar Monajat don't work well under GNOME Shell (neither I nor Muayyad were able to figure out the reason). If I understand correctly, Monajat has a strength over Minbar, which is the cities database in Monajat also includes the prayer calculation method, timezone DST info for each city, but Minbar only has the long/lat coordinates of the city. -- أحمد المحمودي (Ahmed El-Mahmoudy) Digital design engineer GPG KeyID: 0xEDDDA1B7 GPG Fingerprint: 8206 A196 2084 7E6D 0DF8 B176 BC19 6A94 EDDD A1B7 signature.asc Description: Digital signature ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~sabily.team Post to : sabily.team@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~sabily.team More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Sabily.team] app menu
I agree. adding them now is'nt a good idea, nor is adding them as defaults to the next releases, but having them available for those who want them might be a good idea. (I myself prefer the default gnome-shell as it is, with some minimum adjustments, but I don't resemble everyone there!) Personally, I find Mint 12 to be quite cluttered and their GNOME Shell innovations don't really help. If you're going to use GNOME Shell as your primary desktop, it will be far easier to keep GNOME Shell mostly vanilla. Obviously, the prayer-time extension is valuable but I don't think these other ones are such a good idea as to be in the default install. The more extensions you use, the longer after a Ubuntu release, Sabily's release is likely to lag. And what happens if whatever extension developer stops developing his extension? Basically, I don't think now is a good time for Sabily to spend much time trying to make its own customized desktop since some users will prefer vanilla GNOME Shell, some will want Fallback, some want Mint, some want Unity. And of course those desktop choices are available after install... Re: [Sabily.team] Fwd: Sabily: How to creat Bootable Sabily USB
Just choose to install on it at installation option. Before that set on your BIOS to enable USB drive (make sure it detectable). For safety disable your current HardDrive or for more safety, disconnect it from your system. Your USB drive space must more than Sabily ISO size depend on your it version, for example Sabily small is about 1Gb. I will try to make an article about it this weekend, Insya'Allah. meorbu Date: Wed, 7 Dec 2011 12:33:51 +0100 From: jme...@sabily.org To: sabily.team@lists.launchpad.net; rehanqurash...@yahoo.com Subject: [Sabily.team] Fwd: Sabily: How to creat Bootable Sabily USB forwarded on sabily team mailing list...
