Regular readers of CSS may have noticed a clever chap by the name of Mike
Wynne has been working on a very clever Spectrum Clone called Speccy Bob
(unfortunate choice of name perhaps ;) ?

 http://www.speccybob.2y.net/

Well I've asked if he'd considered adding SAM Compatibility to the new
improved bells and whistles model... which he is interested in, in theory
at
least, but would like some techy info

Can someone provide some...? After all, this is the closest we're ever
going
to get to a new SAM!

 Thanks in advance

 David

PS: Can u send any relevent info to: Mike Wynne [EMAIL PROTECTED]

 Thanks

Sounds like an interesting idea, but how much would 'SAM compatability'
actually cover? IMO, to be worth doing it it'd need a fairly complete
set of features, and that would be an lot of extra work. Even after
paging/video-modes/IO/etc., the sound support would also require an
SAA1099 chip to be included (unless it's something that can be on a unit
plugged into the back, if needed).

I'd be interested to hear what any hardware bods on the list think about
the feasability...

If he's still keen after seeing the SAM technical manual, I'm sure many
of us will be keen to help out with additional information. :-)
