[Samba] Windows appliaktion exe-files on a share extremely slow
Hello to all, I am meanwhile with the latest samba sernet 3.5.8 but it is still the same. When I place a executable exe-file in a share for all users the responding and starting of that application is extremely slow. Re: [Samba] Domain Controller GPO
I would redownload the git source and download the latest version of samba4 and compile it and provision it and then when you get the latest verison of samba4(which I think is samba4 alpha 15) and then how you would change the password complexity requirements in the latest version of samba4 you would use samba-tool or if you do not have the samba4 bin and sbin folders in your path: /usr/local/samba/bin/samba-tool(this is assuming that you installed the latest version of samba4 to your /usr/local folder) and you put this command like this: /usr/local/samba/bin/samba-tool pwsettings --complexity=off --history-length=0 --min-pwd-length=0 --min-pwd-age=0 and then press enter and then it will disable the password complexity on the latest version of samba4 Thanks for your assistance, however the options are not recognized by the net command. [Samba] Printer settings not saved
Hi, I have problems to save printer settings like changing the size from letter to A4. This happens for user settings and default printer settings. The settings are always resetted to default values like letter. The system uses samba 3.4.11, I also did some tests with samba 3.5.8, but nothing changed. After downgrading to 3.3.2 everything worked as expected. I didn't change any samba configuration while up- and downgrading. Bug #6727 sounds a little bit like my problem: [...] Also if I change the configuration (e. g. configure 4 cartridges instead of 2), it is not be saved). But this bug should be fixed with 3.5.8, see: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6727 Can somebody confirm this bug? There are several per-filesystem encryption mechanisms. Samba also supports over-the-wire transport encrpytion (and has done for many years), but only for non-Windows clients (I'm bugging Steve French and Jeff Layton to get this into the Linux CIFSFS client asap). If IPv6 DNS names are turned on, but Samba isn't configured to listen on an IPv6 interface, then is_myname_or_ipaddr() can return false on a valid DNS name that it should detect is our own. If the IPv6 addr is returned by preference, then looking at the first addr only causes is_myname_or_ipaddr() to fail. We need to look at all the addresses returned by the DNS lookup and check all of them against our interface list. This is an order N^2 lookup, but there shouldn't be enough addresses to make this a practical problem. Jeremy.
