[Samba] LDAP compiling
Hello All I've read documentation that i had to compile samba with LDAP support. However, I also read that LDAP support is already compiled with Samba ver 3.x. Is it true that ldap is compiled with Samba 3.x. I will be using the binary distribution for fedora core 1 Thanx for you patience Jeremy __ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! [Samba] Samba Ldap Understanding
Hello Andrew and all, I have a question about Ldap and Samba. I've implemented samba in the past, but never with LDAP. I tried reading the Howto, however it seems that most of the examples are lean more toward using OpenLdap. I'd like to know about using Samba with and external LDAP server provided by a third party (ie Iplanet or other). ** How do I ensure that Samba work with third party LDAP server that dont sit on the same machine that Samba is installed on? ** What LDAP info/schema is neccessary to do the authtication? ** After a user is authenticated with against the LDAP server, how do I offer shares of the Samba machine? ** Can some point me to a case/example doc that i can read that is more related to LDAP server installed on another machine? I am doing a project for a non profit that is associated with a school district that has LDAP on Iplanet already in place. Thanks a billion, Jeremy wake __ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! [Samba] Samba 3.0 w/ Kerberos On FreeBSD 5.0 Will Not Compile
Hello all, I can't seem to get Samba 3.0 to compile with Kerberos and LDAP support on a FreeBSD 5.0 box. To be more accurate, all of the source files will compile, they just won't link with my MIT Kerberos 5.0 libraries (also built from scratch), and claim they can't resolve function names in the Kerberos libraries. Has anyone else seen this problem, or have any clues on how to fix it? Thank you in advance for your help.
