[Samba] nmbd asyncdns problem
Hello , we recently upgraded to samba 3.05 and since then everything was fine except for nmbd problem that we are facing. Each morning around 7-9 am wins.dat file stops upgrading as well as log.nmbd file. and the last message that is in nmbd.log file is [2004/08/11 07:40:24, 0] nmbd/asyncdns.c:start_async_dns(149) started asyncdns process 7753. [Samba] version 3.05 users %u change?
Hello I just upgraded my samba from 2.8 to 3.05 and the user profiles started storing in some strange way before it used to store in /var/samba/profiles/username/machine/ now it makes /var/samba/profiles/%u directory under that machine name . it seems like something in smb.conf chnged and %u variable works no more. [Samba] Changing from samba 2-2.8a to 3.1 with ldap?
Hi, I am trying to upgrade from old samba to new one, I replaced the samba.schema for open-ldap, changed the smb.conf file to: passdb backend = ldapsam:ldap//localhost added ldap amin dn and suffix options but it still aint working with the old ldap records? Do I have to dump the old records and update them with some changes to the ldap with new schema or is samba3 ldap backward compatible? Same story here since I sent out first mail to this list I get around 500 viruses a day. They get held on my clamav based mail scanner so I only receive warning messages and I can easily filter them and I aint got no outlook. Hello, I am sorry if I anyone asked this before but I would like to know if its possible to use samba 3 to backup data including profiles and netlogon scripts from samba 3 pdc? If so how can I do it? I tried to search this but never found a suciffient answer. [Samba] samba acting as bdc
I set one samba3 as pdc but I have 2 subnets each in different location and upgrading the profiles take to much bandwith and in case the connection between those subnets is down they cant log on to the domain.. Is it possible to set another machine on that subnet as bdc that would have backup of the profiles used for those local users taken from the pdc?? I searched for it but found nothin.
