Re: [Samba] Questions about the new idmap interface

2007-09-16 Thread Thomas Blank

Is it the same problem I tried to explain here?
http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2007-September/135060.html

It looks like a bug to me as it works in 3.0.24

Sorry if I already asked about this, do you see the TestGroup from
PASING if you do a getent PASING\\TestGroup ?

Do you mean a getent group from a member of the PASING domain? Yes.

 # getent group | grep TestGroup
 TestGroup:x:7500:muehlfeld

From the MUC member server I also see the group trough winbind:

 # wbinfo -g | grep -i TestGroup
 PASING+testgroup

If so there seem to be something fishy as from the log it seem to
recognize this group comes from the trusted domain, but still tries to
see if it is mapped with Group Mapping, might be a bug, need to drill
more into it, and unfortunately, right now I don;t have a setup like
yours

 to test.

Just tell me what I could do for you to find what could be wrong.

 Marc

[Samba] Problems with BDC-Samba starting with version 3.0.25

2007-09-12 Thread Thomas Blank
I'm running Samba on Solaris 10 Sparc for about one year now (version 3.0.22
and then updated to 3.0.24). It acts as a BDC.
Now, after updating to 3.0.25c some users cannot log in.
I'm getting this error:
domain_client_validate: unable to validate password for user myuser in domain
MYDOMAIN to Domain controller MYPDC. Error was NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER.

The difference between the users is, that one are working on a desktop computer
logging in to the domain on startup, the other ones are working on a notebook
not logging in to the domain initially. They use local username and password
matching the entries in the domain.

No problem so far with 3.0.24 - connecting the shares worked fine. Starting
with with 3.0.25 it fails.
If I connect the share manually using net use X: \\mysamba\myshare and
specifying MYDOMAIN\myuser and password, it works.

What has changed? What am I doing wrong?
If you need the config and/or build options, let me know.

Thanks for your help!
Thomas
