[Samba] Call timed out: server did not respond...
Hello All, I don't know how, but I managed to get my no logon server found error to go away, but now I am experiencing another problem. When I run net join ads -d 3 I get the following error message. I know it's authenticating, because if I enter an incorrect password it says The username or password was not correct. So it's accessing the correct server, but then timing out for some reason. [Samba] Call timed out?
Hello, I reported this problem already some months ago, but haven't received anything that helped. I try it from a different angle today: What could cause this message when creating an archive via smbclient? ? Call timed out: server did not respond after 2 milliseconds opening remote file And question two: What could cause smbclient to hang after that and fail on each following file with this ? Call timed out ... ? I can access the first file via smbclient fine. Definitely no 20 seconds delay there ... Could this be the virus-scanner on the NT-box? I have to check its logs when I am back there. -- The numbers: Samba 3.0.1, Suse Linux 9, accessing a NT4-SP6a-Workstation, which runs NAV2003 Pro. -- best regards, Stefan G. [Samba] Call timed out:
Hello, I am trying to mount a server in Redhat Linux with 'mount -t smbfs' and ran into the following error: - 5348: tree connect failed: Call timed out: server did not respond after 2 milliseconds SMB connection failed - the command was mount -t smbfs -o username=#,workgroup=### //es#.###/### /mnt/tmt This location is to a shared drive. I tried my own account on the same server and it mounts in 8 secs. From other operating system, I find out that it takes about 40-60 seconds to mount the drive. Is there a way to change the time limit in samba or mount. Thanks. John _ Are you a Techie? Get Your Free Tech Email Address Now! [Samba] Call timed out/session request failed Samba 2.2.8a on SVR4System
Hi, we use on an siemens rm400/E70 (Reliant UNIX 5.44) samba 2.0.6. All works fine. Because of recurity reasons we plan to use 2.2.8a. There were only minor problems compiling the sources, smbclient -L any other host works well, smbd and nmbd starts with the smb.conf from samba 2.0.6 without any serious messages Starting smbclient -L NB name localhost=TCPPS02 results in the following messages: added interface ip=172.16.207.7 bcast=172.16.255.255 nmask=255.255.0.0 session request to TCPPS02 failed (Call timed out: server did not respond after 2 milliseconds) session request to *SMBSERVER failed (Call timed out: server did not respond after 2 milliseconds) ps shows then 3 smbd processes, smbstatus: no used services, no locked files in the log-file log.smbd (log level=5) these warnings are recorded [2003/06/25 12:54:10, 5] lib/util_sock.c:print_socket_options(109) Could not test socket option SO_SNDTIMEO. [Samba] call timed out smbclient error on get command
hi im using samba to enable backup of nt server shares using the amanda backup system. however i am running into some problems. even though i can use smbclient to connect to the share and browser directories etc, when i try and get a file i get the following error smb: \Administration\jill-andrew\jill-andrew\slide presentations\ get ppslides complete.ppt Call timed out: server did not respond after 2 milliseconds opening remote file \Adm inistration\jill-andrew\jill-andrew\slide presentations\ppslides complete.ppt smb: \Administration\jill-andrew\jill-andrew\slide presentations\ Segmentation fault (core dumped) through the amanda system i get the following error /-- william//cytopia01.intra.cytopia.com.au/shared lev 1 STRANGE sendbackup: start [william://cytopia01.intra.cytopia.com.au/shared level 1] sendbackup: info BACKUP=/usr/bin/smbclient sendbackup: info RECOVER_CMD=/bin/gzip -dc |/usr/bin/smbclient -f... - sendbackup: info COMPRESS_SUFFIX=.gz sendbackup: info end | session request to CYTOPIA01.INTRA failed (Called name not present) ? Call timed out: server did not respond after 2 milliseconds opening remote file \Administration\jill-andrew\jill-andrew\slide presentations\ppslides complete.ppt (\Administration\jill-andrew\jill-andrew\slide presentations\) its more confusing because another share on the same nt server with the same permisions doesnt give the same error. you are able to get files using smbclient. however when running amanda i recieve the following error /-- william//cytopia01.intra.cytopia.com.au/usershared lev 1 STRANGE sendbackup: start [william://cytopia01.intra.cytopia.com.au/usershared level 1] sendbackup: info BACKUP=/usr/bin/smbclient sendbackup: info RECOVER_CMD=/bin/gzip -dc |/usr/bin/smbclient -f... - sendbackup: info COMPRESS_SUFFIX=.gz sendbackup: info end | session request to CYTOPIA01.INTRA failed (Called name not present) ?
