 I switched a 7 and a 5.

Andy, you are correct it shouldn't do this. The create mask
should *always* mask off files - even when directly setting
chmod bits via the UNIX extensions.

Can you reproduce this in a test with 3.0.23c ? It may be a
bug we fixed.
