Thanks.  I agree with the sec ish and have moved away
from this and now use a combo of uid/gid  creat
mode-dir mode flags in the .conf.

I forgot about that.. it works well, too (:

Sgid is more flexible and works in the underlying
filesystem, which is also more secure, especially if
you allow local logins or have other services
accessing the same files.  We have NetAtalk and Samba,
and this was the only way to go.
