You have no restrictions on use of it, but if you have needs that nobody can fulfil for free, you have the choice to pick anybody in the world with an IRIX machine and a compiler and do it for you. You might end up having to pay for it, but that is the price you pay for using a niche platform. If you feel better using proprietary software, this is your choice as well. We don't attach any strings on how you use Samba. You might find somebody to sell you a proprietary SMB server for IRIX, I don't know that market well enough. All we can offer is another option among the wealth of SMB servers around. Don't get me wrong, I would love to help you. But I don't have an IRIX machine around. I am interesting of SGI IRIX > version. The problem is that none of us uses IRIX on a daily basis, so we personally don't have a strong enough need to create those packages. When you have problems compiling it yourself that can be tracked down to bad Samba code, you will definitely find help here or on the other mailing lists. We always want to make sure that Samba compiles on as many platforms as possible. Volker Lendecke pgp0.pgp Description: PGP signature
Current 3_0 RPMs for SuSE 8.2
Hi! I've put together yesterday's SAMBA_3_0 CVS for SuSE 8.2 as RPMs. This is work in progress, when 3.0.1 is out this will be more formal. See ftp://ftp.sernet.de/pub/samba/suse82/ Have fun! Volker pgp0.pgp Description: PGP signature

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi, Metze! ... using usrmgr.exe against pdb_ldap > I'll look at it today. I have just tried it. I successfully set a user's description via usrmgr.exe. I do however have problems with certain values. If for example I want to store just a space into 'description' I get 'invalid syntax'. If doing this via 'ldapmodify', the attribute ends up in a base64 coded value of IA==. I think I have to put some more work into LDAP coding Volker -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Key-ID D32186CF, Fingerprint available: phone +49 551 370 iD8DBQE+gtZfOmSXH9Mhhs8RAoebAJ46os88Tke6jyKvX9mTwqkR32sM+gCffoZC t7mYKxcnL+xOLNn8Bs2J1b4= =yNuY -END PGP SIGNATURE-

I can't think of anything else that would be essential. If you have LDAP as a backend (unlikely for LRP though..), you also need pdbedit.
