*Urgent Need - Storage Engineer / System Administrator(Local to Dc,MD, VA ) * *Job Title: Storage Engineer / System Administrator* *Location: McLean, VA* *End Date: 12/31/2013* *Required skills: *Architecture,COM,EMC,Engineering,Linux,Management,Networking,SAN,Solaris,UNIX,VERITAS,VMware,Windows 2000,Windows 2003,Windows 98 *Description:* The position will be responsible to ensure that the objectives of the Platform Engineering team are met requiring deep technical knowledge and 7+ years of prior engineering experience in the following areas: - EMC VMAX, VNX VPLEX Block Storage Solutions. - Brocade SAN directors and FCIP routers. - Replication Design Hands-on Implementation of EMC SRDF, RPA VPLEX Metro for Block storage. As well as NetApp, EMC Data domain and Celarra NAS replication technologies for File based storage solutions. - UNIX Windows Volume Manager Configuration Administration. - VMware SRM Integration with EMC SRDF, RPA solutions. - Any major enterprise backup recovery solution (VERITAS Netbackup, IBM TSM or EMC Legato, CommVault, EMC Avamar). - Understanding of HA and DR concepts as applied to major Infrastructure areas (Compute, Storage Network) is a must. - Prior experience in designing secure cloud virtualized environments is a plus. Collaborative responsibilities: - Coordination with Operations team for the design, build and production readiness of storage infrastructure solutions supporting mission critical Production environments. - Coordination with Architecture Services to ensure implementation of best practices for infrastructure governance, architecture, engineering, production support and service Management. Additional responsibilities: - Ensures consistent delivery of superior technical solutions. - Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions and strategies. - Continually defines ways to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
