Position Overview:
Seeking a high­ performing web engineer to join one of our dynamic Product
delivery teams working in cloud based distributed environments. You will
have the opportunity to work with large,

"big data" sets such as scientific data, machine generated data from our
farmer's equipment to geospatial data, precision agriculture, remote
sensing, weather and or soil data. We are

revolutionizing the agriculture industry by helping the world's farmers
sustainably increase their productivity with digital tools. If you are

What You Will Do:
•Develop responsive, robust web applications to present agronomic,
geospatial and climatological information on maps, charts, and feeds.
•Collaborate with product, design, science and engineering leadership to
conceptualize great phone and tablet experiences for the agriculture
industry.
•Work with data ranging from on farm collected precision agriculture data
to remote sensed satellite imagery
•Be a part of an agile team that embraces best practices and modern tools
(Git, Jira/Stash, Jenkins) for web development.
•Develop distributed scalable platforms to process high volume,
computationally intensive models
•Opportunity to learn new technologies and frameworks to solve some great
challenges in the agriculture industry (i.e. limited access to a reliable
data connection).
•Continuously develop and release applications with great unit and
application test coverage.
•Opportunity to learn other platforms and languages like server side REST
in Java / Clojure, Android Application Development or iOS.

Basic Qualifications:
•At least 5 years experience programming in web technologies as well as
deployment in large cloud based distributed environments
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science OR equivalent combination of
education and experience
•Prior experience supporting consumer products and a passion for software
that works, scales, and makes a difference

Preferred Qualifications:
•Strong understanding of OO programming, design patterns (e.g. MVC), data
structures and algorithms, with a BS or MS in Computer Science or
equivalent experience.
•Experience working with Javascript frameworks. React using Flux and/or
Redux is preferred, but AngularJS, Ember.js, or Backbone are also
acceptable.
•Experience working with dependency and file management systems such as
npm, Webpack, and Browserify.
•Experience working with task runners such as Gulp or Grunt.
•Experience with version control systems. Git is preferred.
•Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and listening
skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear
and concise manner.
•Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.

Responsibilities:
-Responsible for the design, development and creation of user-centered
designs for Web sites.
-Responsibilities include human factors engineering, heuristic evaluations
and usability testing for Web and client based applications as well as
metrics setting and monitoring for assessing the

usability of the Web application.
-Works to improve the usability, usefulness, and desirability of Web sites
in collaboration with Graphic Designers, Product Managers, Engineering
Staff and other Web Designers.
-Must be able to perform usability tests, provide design prototypes and
provide ad hoc user interface consulting.
-Responsible for requirements gathering and articulation of user interface
issues—including development of page/site prototypes.
-Must be knowledgeable of user-centered design methodology, user scenarios,
usability testing, storyboarding, paper and interactive prototypes.
-Must have demonstrated skills in graphic applications, HTML development
tools and other applicable authoring tools, Web production, front-end
development using programming and scripting

-Possesses a portfolio of Web sites or solutions.

Required:

-Excellent understanding of Angular.js
-Java web services with Spring-NodeJS experience
-Working knowledge of jqGrid.js
-Understanding and appreciation of great UI and UX
-Experience with implementing and consuming cross platform Web Services
utilizing REST
-Excellent understanding of web design patterns and principles
-Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
-Very comfortable working with, modifying, and creating sites using CMS
platforms like WordPress
-Working knowledge of PHP as it pertains to working with WordPress
-Wordpress templating/plugin experience

Preferred:
-Experience with Bower, NPM-Experience with Responsive Web Design
-A strong portfolio that includes examples of intuitive user experience
(UX) and semantic coding principles
-Previous projects involving data visualization and/or JavaScript charting
library
-Working knowledge of SQL/database systems
-Debugging and troubleshooting
-Working collaboratively with others using Git
-Proficiency in Photoshop. Additional Adobe design programs a plus
-Apache and Tomcat, Linux, nginx
