*Role: *SEO Manager *Location* - San Bruno, CA 94066 *Job Type - *Contract *Duration : 6+ Months* *Position Summary: * The SEO Manager will work with the Client’s SEO team to support one or more business verticals. This person will define, plan, implement and measure the SEO success within the vertical. This position requires a combination of SEO expertise and project management skill. Working inside of a large organization with diverse teams, the SEO Manager will support one or more business verticals and give guidance and manage projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will be able to identify areas for SEO improvement, hash out a plan to target those areas, and back up that plan with solid business numbers and search engine analysis. *Essential Functions * An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation. 1. Personally conduct site audits at the department and category level to determine opportunity, scope of work and ROI. 2. Engage with department and category leads to define and implement an SEO growth strategy for their area. 3. Project manage SEO plan to implementation and report progress. 4. Personally conduct hands-on SEO related work including keyword research, ranking analysis, on-page content changes, internal/external linking, and performance reports. 5. Define and measure SEO metrics for their respective area. 6. Educate team on SEO and best practices. 7. Partner with multiple teams across the company to raise SEO awareness and collaborate on projects. 8. Collaborate with other SEO Managers on related initiatives and learnings. 9. Stay on top of trends in SEO and share with the team *Competencies * An individual must be proficient in each of the competencies listed below to successfully perform the responsibilities of this position. 1. 3-5 years of related work experience 2. Deep experience with Omniture and Brightedge and related SEO web analytic tools 3. 360 degree understanding of SEO architecture, link graphs, taxonomies, content optimization and promotion 4. In depth technical understanding of HTML, Javascript, and DOM as it relates to SEO best practices 5. A good understanding of social networks and how they relate to SEO 6. Strong Excel modeling skills including use of pivot tables; proficiency in PowerPoint and presenting to large groups. 7. Eagerness to learn and grow with the latest trends in SEO; self-motivated to explore *Additional Preferred Qualifications: * 1. Experience working for an online retailer 2. Experience presenting to large groups 3. Experience with SQL and large data sets 4. Experience working with third-party vendors *Physical Activities * The following physical activities are necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position. Enters and locates information on computer. 1. Presents information to small or large groups and individuals. 2. Communicates effectively in person or by using telecommunications equipment. 3. Reads information, often in small print. *Travel * Traveling is not necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position. *Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in from an accredited school. 1-2 years experience in SEO marketing and online marketing. 1-2 years experience in project & product management.
