*Please send resume to s...@cncconsulting.com * Job Title: Sr. Unix/Linux Engineer Location: NYC Duration: 5 Months+ Direct Client Position Note: F2F interview SCOPE OF SERVICES Manage, architect, build and monitor highly available, secure UNIX environments. Perform project management & supervision for UNIX infrastructure. Manage, design and implement disaster recovery solutions. Oversee server sizing and capacity planning, installation, setup and configuration. Manage UNIX projects/tasks as assigned. Serve as Systems Administrator for Solaris UNIX systems and Red Hat Linux systems. Prepare technical deployment plans and system utilization reports. Work with other technical staff to coordinate implementation activities. Follow and document procedures related to Systems Administration of the DoITT SUN and Red Hat LINUX environment. Respond, track, and escalate systems incident on all UNIX/Linux systems. Perform system patch deployments and hardware maintenance; application upgrades and patches. Monitor and resolve alerts. Monitor system security. Follow change management and Configuration management procedures and guidelines. Install and maintain various Sun and HP equipment. Perform system administration duties such as installations; configurations; troubleshooting; kernel tuning; user access administration; file system tuning, hardware configuration, system performance tuning, disk management, custom package creation, shell scripting, fine grain access control (Sudo/RBAC). THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE IS MANDATORY: Mandatory Skill/Expertise Minimum 4 years of experience performing the following tasks and services: Actual # Years & Months Experience Dates >From through Where Employed UNIX & LINUX System administration/engineering. Veritas products including Cluster Server, Volume Manager, File System and other clustering & replication technologies. Managing SUN/UNIX/LINUX based deployment. Administering, structuring, architecting, and supporting web-based systems that are highly available and capable of handling large throughput and concurrency. Shell Scripting Current Solaris/Linux certifications. Understanding of UNIX performance tuning and related utilities. Experience leading members of large application deployment teams. Knowledge of SAN storage infrastructure. Experience with current SUN hardware and software. Understanding of Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) application development concepts. Understanding of network concepts (i.e. TCP/IP protocols, routing, subnets, services, DNS, etc.), strong understanding of information technology systems development, project management, and maintenance practices. Demonstrated experience working with technical and non-technical staff. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Outstanding collaboration and team building skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent analytic, organization, presentation and facilitation skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
