Position : Big Data Architect

Location :  Austin, TX

DURATION : 6 months (extendable)

 Candidates local to *Austin, TX are preferred*

*Responsibilities:*

• Design, Develop, Test, and Deploy Hadoop clusters using any Hadoop
distribution & open Source platforms.

• Analyze, design, develop, test and deploy data driven analytics, event
driven analytics, sets of analytics orchestrated through rule engines,
analytics that discover and exploit social networks, analytics with
heterogeneous data environment

• Collaborate with product/project managers, data scientists, business
users and other engineers to define requirements to design, build and tune
complex solutions.

• Monitor system performance, recommend and develop means for improvement,
provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements surrounding big data
solutions.

• Provide an overall architect responsibilities including roadmaps,
leadership, planning, technical innovation, IT governance, etc.

• Mentor other engineers in the team regarding technology and best
practices, Influence the team by providing recommendations for continuous
improvement.



*Basic Qualifications:*

Minimum of 6 years work experience with Data Architecture

Minimum of 6 years work experience with Java - Java Opensource

Minimum of 3 years work experience with Hadoop



*Preferred skills:*

Experience with Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS)

Experience with serialization such as JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) and
/or BinaryScript Object Notation (BSON)

Experience deploying applications in a cloud environment

Experience designing and developing automated analytic software,
techniques, and algorithms, Sentiment Analysis and OpenNLP

Experience designing, developing and implementing online-machine learning
libraries using R, Python, Java Map-reduce and Apache Mahout

Experience with taxonomy construction for analytic disciplines, knowledge
areas and skills
