The selected candidate will serve as a Programmer/Developer for PennDOT's
iOS Enterprise Mobile Development team. The candidate is expected to
understand business and technical requirements, and implement iOS solutions
based on those requirements. The solutions will entail developing and

6.Agile Development using Sprints: All projects follow an agile sprint
methodology, and the incumbent should be comfortable with daily standups,

Job Description:
Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures with
website/application and mobile development. Relies on instructions and
pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job
functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
Works with DMV Web Services group to assist with build out of a mobile
version of the DMV website based on designated requirements to support
customer traffic using various mobile client browsers for devices such as
iPhone, Android, and Blackberry.  Requires ASP, ASP.Net, and CSS coding and
IIS configuration.
Works with DMV Web Services group to build mobile applications for iPhone,
iPad, and Android devices.  This includes full project lifecycle such as
requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment based on DMV
requirements and industry best practices.
Assists with other website development projects inline with staff
augmentation requirements providing ASP.Net application coding based on
agency need.

**There are 2 positions associated with this requirement.**

The selected candidate will serve as a programmer/developer for iOS Mobile
Computing solutions for client.  The Programmer will serve as a software
developer for a project to deploy iOS-based mobile devices with custom
software to client district staff in order to conduct surveys and collect
survey data for Public Transit.  The solution will involve working with iOS
mobile computing  tools, relational databases, and GPS technologies.  The
candidate will be part of a development team to build out the pilot into a
comprehensive solution and coordinate full deployment, while assisting with
mentoring client staff assigned to the project.

Specific Duties:
Serve as a developer of n-tier applications using iOS SDK, mobile computing
and GPS technologies.
Develop, test and deploy user interface, service tier and data tier
components for complex applications, including server-based web
applications and Android mobile applications..
Participate in the full SDLC process (including coding) of iOS application
solutions, including Objective C,  HTML, XML and web services.
Participate in design and coding of database objects in relational
databases such as SQL Server 2005/2008, Oracle, or DB2, including queries,
stored procedures, views, triggers, etc.
Participate in design and coding of application-embedded, scheduled and
ad-hoc reporting solutions using Business Objects XI, Crystal Reports,
Excelcius and Web Intelligence.
Meet with end users and technical staff of all types to gather business and
system requirements.
Provide technical assistance and assist with mentoring of PennDOT staff
assigned to the project.
