Job Title: SQL Server Developer Location: New York City, NY Duration: Full Time *Visa: GC or US Citizen Only* Skill Set : Strong SQL and BI reporting knowledge to understand existing reporting logic embedded within COGNOS reports and database stored procedures. Design metadata model for the BI environment to expose the reporting elements required by business users Design and develop adhoc and canned reports using parameters, graphs, color changes, master/detail reports using Pentaho Report Designer. Performance tuning of underlying BI queries by analyzing query plans, table joins etc Designing, developing, unit/integrated testing, and creating installation scripts. Analyzing and translating business requirements into technical requirements for development, and creating of high level technical architecture, design documents and technical specifications, in accordance with best practices and standards. Hands on experience in the coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of solutions, and collaborating with other technical areas to integrate the solution Providing post implementation support including monitoring application performance and debugging existing code. Minimum education and work experience required for this position include: BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field a plus. 5+ years of stable, professional experience. 5+ years of experience working with BI tools. Experience working with Pentaho BI and COGNOS reporting is a plus. 5+ years of experience writing SQL queries, understanding/debugging stored procedures, performance tuning queries. DB2 and Composite experience is a plus. Key Competencies: Knowledge of the system development life cycle, and system and application program development. Demonstrated team player. Excellent communication and interpersonal and consultative. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. The ability to stay up to date on trends and developments within functional area of expertise and the industry. Must demonstrate accountability, sound decision making, analytical thoroughness, clear and concise Communications, and the ability to lead and mentor team members.
