Project Manager
Location: Iowa City, IA
Job responsibilities:
* Establish and maintain customized project management best
practices.
* Serve as the focal point for project management related
activities for the Technology Operations group comprised of geographically
dispersed
resources across several time zones.
Responsible for ensuring overall project success working in
collaboration with technical managers and project stakeholders.
* Maintain a consolidated list of projects, track progress and
provide weekly status reports. The number of projects to be
managed could exceed a dozen, some of them with multiple internal and
external cross-functional
dependencies and project timelines of one and a half to two
years.
* Collaborate with project management counterparts and technical
resources in various parts of the organization to facilitate
the effective and successful execution of internal and cross-functional
projects.
Required experience and skills:
* A minimum of five years of technical project management
experience supporting geographically dispersed IT operations
teams responsible for supporting mission critical applications.
* Project Management certification and a strong track record of
successful project execution and completion.
* Experience establishing and maintaining project management
processes and procedures confirming to industry best
practices
* Strong high-level technical knowledge of Web based
applications and supporting technologies including
Internet protocols and architecture, networking, data
storage, databases, datacenter operations, n-tier architectures.
Must be a quick learner and be able to grasp new concepts
and technologies quickly.
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Strong team
player, able to productively handle multiple priorities,
and possess highly effective cross-functional collaboration
capabilities.
