 Job Title: Unix/Linux Sr. Developer

2 Months project

 Columbus, OH

H1B , EAD GC , GC , USC



Description:
Application / Modules:
• Korn shell/Bash Script
• HP Unix
• Red Hat Linux

Responsibilities:
• Converting Korn shell/BASH scripts from HP Unix to Red hat Linux
including coding and testing
• Making an immediate impact to the project
• Collaborating and problem solving
• Ability to work on a high paced environment with tight timelines
• Participate in daily standup meetings

Skill Level
• Software development experience including, but not limited to, mature
design, coding, testing and debugging skills in a HP Unix and Red hat Linux
6.5 environment
• Experience in development of applications which uses Oracle as the
primary database of record. Oracle database experience with version 11g and
12c including Grants, Permissions, triggers
• Strong knowledge in Korn shell and BASH scripting including usage of
DBLink, procedures, Synonyms, Synonyms Views and materialized views
• JDA (Demand & Fulfillment) knowledge is a plus
• Familiarity with version control tool like TFS is a plus

Additional Details:

1. What are the top 3 skills you are looking for? Coding, testing and
debugging skills in HP Unix and Linux environment. Ability to work
independently and meet deadlines.

2. Is there a possibility for extension? Not likely.

3. Could you provide a little background on the department and project they
will be working on? They will be working with our development leads in
Columbus and Bangalore (remotely). The project is an upgrade to our JDA
Demand and Fulfillment application.

4. What are some things that would stand out from candidates and what are
some disqualifiers? This is helping our team troubleshoot Unix to Linux
scripts, it’s detailed oriented and heads down work. If the candidates are
looking for input or creative design work, this would not be a good fit.

5. What would a typical day look like in this role as far as workload?
Standard 8 hour day, start with and update on progress from our offshore
team and spend day reviewing scripts and documenting issues. There is a
handoff at the end of the day on progress. Interaction with our development
leads on troubleshooting and technical questions.

6. What is your timeline for reviewing, interviewing and hiring a
candidate? As soon as possible.

7. What is the interview process, and timing behind it? Phone screen is
sufficient, as soon as possible.

8. Does the resource need to be local or are you open to someone relocating
for the role temporarily? Prefer local.
