Please share suitable profiles to *mark.ev...@panzersolutions.com* *Job Title : IBM AIX Administrator Location : Atlanta, GA or Bellevue, WA Duration : 6-12+ Months Contract* The client is seeking an IBM AIX Administrator for a 6-12+ month opportunity in the Atlanta (Perimeter/Dunwoody) area. The details are below: Responsible for Operating System administration, configuration, and system level application support, network and server monitoring and performance tuning of Operating System, hardware, and applications. *Tasks: * Research, evaluate, and recommend new hardware and software to support an expanding enterprise network infrastructure and be responsible for server hardware and system capacity planning. Document and maintain hardware, software and network standards. UNIX Architecture design, implementation and support. Forecast and proactively recommend strategic hardware and software upgrades or replacements when service statistics indicate upcoming unsatisfactory performance levels. Set up security for the servers. Design, implement, and support system backups. Design systems and network configurations for optimum performance along with troubleshooting and problem resolutions. Direct tasking of junior system administrators. Work directly with staff members and project managers. *Skills: * Experience in setting up, administrating, and managing very large, AIX / UNIX configurations required (i.e., large number of servers and environments as well as multi-process UNIX servers) Must be experienced in designing and administering large numbers of standardized UNIX configuration and following ITIL standard administration processes Strong knowledge of system architecture, ability to apply different technologies to solve problems UNIX: current experience with most recent versions of AIX, Solaris, HPUX Prior experience configuring and managing LPAR partitions using VIO under AIX 5.3/6.1.
