Title: Java Developer Duration: 2+ months Location: New Orleans,LA Contract – Must be EAD, GC or Citizen Job Responsibilities: The Sr. Software Engineer’s role is to define, design, develop, test, analyze, and maintain new and current software applications in support of business requirements for Java platforms. This role is also responsible for participating in requirements gathering meetings with business and technical teams and producing technical and business documentation in support of software solutions developed. This role will also be responsible for mentoring and performing code reviews of junior programmers on the team. Essential Responsibilities • Participate in the analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of information technology solutions for business processes. • Develop and debug complex code, conduct code reviews, and mentor other developers on coding in alignment with industry best practices • Collaborates with US, near-shore, and off-shore based team members to deliver software solutions. • Define detailed functional and technical specifications required to satisfy business requirements. • Maintain team’s alignment with software development best practices and ensure quality standards are met or exceeded • Provide functional and technical documentation • Additional duties as assigned by management Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance or related field (or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years equivalent working experience) • 4+ years of software development experience using J2EE or Spring • 3+years Oracle PLSQL experience (SQL statements, stored procedures, functions, and triggers) • 3+years in application design and implementation Eligibility Qualifications: • Must be willing to work out of an office in New Orleans, LA Desired Characteristics • Financial services software development experience • Worked in an Agile software development environment • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Experience with Java technologies such as Struts and Hibernate • Experience with automated test tools (JUnit, JBehave) a plus • Experience in developing Web Services (Axis2, Rampart) • Experience implementing a Continuous Integration environment such as Jenkins. • Experience with Tomcat or similar web application container configuration settings. • Experience with JavaScript, CSS & HTML (HTML5 plus) • Experience with JavaScript frameworks (JQuery, Angular, etc.) a plus • Experience with XML. • Possesses problem solving and analytical skills • Ability to manage customer expectations _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Regards, Daniel Hoffman | Staffing Manager | daniel.hoff...@consultingknights.com | Consulting Knights, Inc. | Direct: 609-423-4616 | Fax: (609) 228-5321 | This email message, including any attachments, is for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential and privileged information.
