They will support the project below. Must have Visio and prefer some exposure to a testing and familiarity with a mainframe environment. Let me know if this is something you might be interested in. Project SSA Division of Validation and Testing Technology (DVTT) strives to improve the validation processes and improve the quality and accessibility of its test data. The division is intended to provide SSA with a comprehensive, single source for managed test data. It is targeted to provide data across multiple environments, facilitate test case reusability, and offer a robust user interface for data selection. The safeguarding of PII and FTI are extensions of current sanitization efforts to ensure adequate safeguarding of the data entrusted to SSA by the public. For purposes of this Task order, the functions relevant to validation process that are centralized in DVTT include: - Management and scheduling of validations across programmatic functional area in order to manage application and system interdependencies during validations. - Creating and maintaining validation versions of the production Job Control Language (JCL) needed to execute a system or a system-wide validation. - Maintaining the Validation Data Base (VDB), a carefully managed/tracked amalgamation of approximately 50 data stores, including all of SSA’s master programmatic data stores. - Developing and maintaining validation specific processes such as the software and procedures utilized to backup, restore and accrete data. - Customizing and maintaining commercial off-the-shelf software packages that are necessary to performing specific validation functions including: - TestBase to allowing multiple copies of DB2 databases to be resident in validations; - SoftDate to allow manipulation of the system date for forward date and regression testing; - Data Solutions to allow obfuscation of Federal Taxpayer Information/ Personally Identifiable Information (FTI/PII) of production cases prior to use as test data. - File-Aid/RDX , a vendor tool which supports the extract, load and delete of related sets of data from DB2, VSAM, and flat files. - Control-M and Dialog Manager with File Tailoring, tools used extensively to schedule and manage the execution of batch processes. - Managing the test data within the validation environment including such processes as backing up and restoring data stores, accreting data to data bases, cloning (duplicating data) cases, indexing test cases for traceability, and selecting test data by criteria. - Job Control Language (JCL) is used extensively to develop validation run streams as well as manage the VDB’s various execution processes such as the morning run for to pull test cases from production, index processes, and data selection processes; - REXX, COBOL and SAS are extensively used programming languages for mainframe processes; - Designing, developing and maintaining new and improved validation process including the Enterprise Test Data Management System (ETDMS) to facilitate test case selection and the Data Validation Collection and Management System (DVCAMS).
